What is Solvequill?
It turns a homework question into a short video where the problem is worked out on a whiteboard, step by step, with someone talking you through it. You send the question, you get back a lesson about that exact question — not a generic explanation of the topic.
What actually happens after I send a question?
Solvequill reads the question, works out the solution, plans how to explain it, then writes it on the board while narrating. You can usually start watching before the whole video has finished rendering, so you are not staring at a progress bar the entire time.
Which subjects does it handle?
Maths, physics, chemistry and coding. Within those it covers a wide range — algebra through calculus, mechanics and circuits, stoichiometry and reactions, and code you want traced, debugged or explained. Ask it something outside those subjects and it will tell you it cannot help rather than guess.
Can I take a photo of my homework instead of typing it?
Yes. A photo, a screenshot, a PDF, or a code file all work, and so does typing or pasting the question. If a question has a diagram, Solvequill reads the diagram too and redraws it on the board instead of ignoring it.
How long does a video take, and how long is it?
A few minutes to produce, and usually one to six minutes to watch. The length follows the problem: a one-line simplification does not get a ten-minute lecture, and a multi-part proof is not rushed through in ninety seconds.
What does it cost?

Is the answer always right?
No, and we would rather say so. It is right the large majority of the time and every solution goes through automated checks, but an AI can still make a mistake — most often on an unusual question or a hard-to-read photo. Treat it as a very good study partner rather than an answer key, and if something looks wrong to you, it might be. You can report a video and we look at it.
Can I download or share the video?
Yes. You can download it to keep, and you can share a link to it. Your videos stay in your history so you can come back to one the night before an exam.
Is it just the video?
No. Each lesson comes with a summary, a quiz, practice problems built on the same idea, and a chat where you can ask follow-up questions about that specific solution. The point is to be able to ask "but why did that step work?" and get an answer.
Is using this cheating?
That depends on what you do with it. Copying the final line onto your homework and moving on is not learning, and you will feel that in the exam. Watching the reasoning, then doing the practice problems until you can produce the steps yourself, is studying — that is what the quiz and practice tools are for.
What happens to the homework I upload?
It is used to produce your lesson and it stays in your account. It is not sold, and it is not published anywhere unless you choose to share a lesson yourself. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is kept and for how long.
